Jewel Zimmer is a former fine dining pastry chef turned entrepreneur turned founder and formulator of Juna, a line of high end, effective CBD products made with women’s needs in mind. Refreshing, right? Juna’s smart, curated CBD oils and tinctures are kind of everything we’ve been looking for. And have you seen their packaging? Gorg.

We like Jewel.

We asked her 18 questions. We learned a lot. Including the one type of product she doesn’t mess with.

The Candidly Questionnaire

1. What’s something you really like about yourself?

That I’m Canadian.

2. What is your biggest challenge?

Not over thinking.

3. What kitchen or house tool do you use daily that’s changed your life?

Vitamix all the way.

4. When do you feel most confident?

When I’m In the kitchen.

5. Are essential oils anything?

Yes, they are everything. I work with plant extracts and oil and believe a high quality essential oil in proper dilution can be transformational.

6. How do you create boundaries?

I don’t really. I’ve always been inspired by blurred boundaries. Magic lives in these spaces.

7. How do you dampen self-critical thoughts when they get too loud?

I meditate as soon as possible. I also exercise regularly.

8. Describe the most “you” outfit of all time.

Worn-in Re/done or Levi’s denim and a blouse.

9. What meal can you make the hell out of?

Dessert.

10. What book has made the biggest impact on your life?

The Alchemist.

11. Apart from family, what woman do you deeply admire?

Julia Child. I was a pastry chef in my early 20’s, and I had the privilege of baking for her 88th birthday. She was passionate and relatable.

12. Which Insta account is creating the greatest content and why?

I love @sixnfive for escapism.

13.  What quote or phrase has really stayed with you?

“There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.”

14.  What’s your most effective form of therapy?

Meditation, astrology, and exercise.

15. What’s your approach to mending conflict with people you work with?

Conflict generally leads to better learning through an in-depth conversation with deep listening and gratitude.

16.  How do you feel about cilantro?

I love it! I know cilantro hate is a thing though. All the French pastry chefs I’ve ever worked with said it tasted like soap.

17.  Describe your actual bedtime routine.

A cup of chamomile tea and Juna Nightcap oil 30 minutes before bed. Admittedly, I look at my personal calendar for the next day and note any kids classes, events, etc.

18.  What’s your relationship with bangs?

It’s complicated; I love them on other people, hate them on myself.
