Why we love it: First. The motherload. The only hardcore shine-eliminating primer we’ve ever used. For some reason it’s still a secret.

2. estée lauder Double Wear Sheer Long-Wear Foundation SPF 19
Why we love it: Of course you knew this was coming. But gone are the days where you need to slather your face with a full coverage foundation in order to get lasting effects. This sheer version of double wear will give you your most lovely, glowing complexion, any time of year. It just happens that in summer, it will work extra hard for you.

3. charlotte tilbury airbrush flawless finish setting powder
Why we love it: Here’s a pro tip, from us to you: blotting papers suck. They lift your makeup, they’re annoying to use, and they inevitably leave some weird powdery finish on your skin. We hate them and we’re not recommending them. We DO however recommend taking a small brush (like a fluffy eyeshadow brush) and pressing this powder softly on areas where you shine. SOFTLY though. Cheeks, under the nose, chin, middle of forehead. That’s it. Don’t pile it on or it will actually make you MORE shiny and sweaty.

4. CeraVe Hydrating Sunscreen Face Sheer Tint SPF 30
Why we love it: There’s a new trend of SPF products being SO serumy and thick that they can be almost unwearable in the deepest, thickest summer days. But this one is UNREAL. It glides onto the skin like slinky lingerie, and dries immediately down to feel like silk. It’s BIZARRE that it’s not written about more.

5. It cosmetics bye bye undereye anti aging concealer Waterproof
Why we love it: This puppy is both sweat-resistant and is specifically designed for “mature” eyes. It’s packed with hyaluronic acid which keeps things looking soft and plump. Dab on the inner corners of your eyes and riiiiiight below the eye where you’re dark. But don’t go crazy with it. We tend to think if we pile on the concealer we’ll look bright and radiant when in fact that usually just highlights bags and texture. We wrote a whole screed about it HERE. It’s fun.

6. Maelove plush cream
Why we love it: You would think that since you’re pouring sweat and shining like the top of the Chrysler building, that you don’t need moisturizer. How wrong we all are! In fact, if you leave your skin parched in the summer months, it will create MORE oil. Fun! So we love this beautifully balancing, but deeply moisturizer cream from one of our fave brands, Maelove.
It leaves your skin silky soft, but never gives you that tacky feeling. And perfect under makeup, especially in the heat.

7. Miracle balm by jones road beauty
Why we love it: So this is a weird one. It’s extremely emollient so you’d think it wouldn’t be a good choice under the blazing sun. But you need so little of this, and it’s so incredibly sheer, we use it as our bronzer/blush/contour by buying it in 2 colors, mixing them together on our fingertips, and patting all over our face in a tapping motion. Why we love it: To be toooootally honest with you, we skip eyeliner on blazingly hot days. But if you must, this is absolutely the only one that withstands major heat. Don’t be fooled by others. This is the one.

10. charlotte tilbury Tinted Love Lip & Cheek Stain
Why we love it: Frankly we wear this all year round because the color gives your lips that “I just sucked a popsicle” thing that we all seem to want. We wrote about that plus the only 4 other things we EVER use on our lips HERE.
But truly. On a wildly hot day? Just swipe this on in the morning and bring your favorite gloss with you to dab on throughout the day. The stain shines through. It’s magic.

Why we love it: Weird to douse your face in water when you’re already dripping with sweat? No! It will refresh your makeup, cool you down, and this one by Avène has a very mysterious powder to plump our pores instantly. We’re not complaining. We’re just confused. In a good way!
