7 Nail Colors To Try For Fall If You're Sick To Death Of Red And Pinky Nude

Please don’t judge us on our self-mani skills. We’re horrifyingly remedial.

The beauty of all of these nail polish colors is that not only are they more interesting than Big Apple Red and Ballet Slippers, they’re also all extremely easy to use on oneself. Meaning, they won’t get streaky and gross if you’re using your non-dominant hand—most of them only require one swipe! Of course, feel free to store them in a tiny satchel to bring to your favorite nail place, too—which is what we do because it’s the one shred of pampering we can find time for every couple of weeks.

These are our favorite nail polish brands in general, too. They dry the fastest, last the longest, and have the cutest colors.

Ok. Behold.

1. Londontown in Sedona

WHY: Possibly the “weirdest” of the bunch, and 10000000% our favorite. This clean/vegan formula is a regular polish, but lasts like a gel. Aka, the dream. Compliments galore whenever we wear this color, and strangely, it looks great with any color outfits. It’s almost like a neutral! A mossy, jade-y, Frankenstein’s monster-adjacent neutral.

Little tip: Londontown is actually offering 20% off to new customers if you buy through their site.

Price: $16

Olive & June in Hibiscus

WHY: No, it is NOT red, it is a joyful, bright pink that will pop any ol’ creamy/beigey/oatmeal clothes you’re wearing straight to the heavens. It also looks truly gorgeous on every skin color. And this is one coat!! (Please do not zoom in too closely this was all done for the purposes of this article and painting and repainting 10 times is hard you guys.)

Price: $9

3. Essie Expressie Quick-Dry Nail Polish in Sk8 With Destiny

WHY: We know. You’re like: “What?! Violet? For fall?!” And we say yes. Violet for fall. We eschew trends! We refuse to have Big Polish demand that this time of year is only for reds and darks and blacks. We like to think of this violet as more of an icy, frosty color, and it looks utterly gorgeous on every hand and foot.

Price: $10

4. Londontown in Posh Forever

WHY: Ok, we’re back in the land of the seasonal. How luxe and luscious is this copper? We typically don’t love a polish with lots of shimmer running through it, but this copper color has won our hearts. And this is one, pretty haphazard swipe you guys. Foolproof. Is it slightly giving Mrs. Roper? You’re goddamn right it is. And it only makes us love it more.

Price: $16

5. Essie Expressie Quick-Dry Nail Polish in In A Flash Sale

WHY: If pumpkin spice does something to your very soul, it’s very very possibly you need this burnt orange shade in your life pronto.

Price: $10

6. Londontown Kur Illuminating Nail Concealer

WHY: If you are truly helpless when it comes to doing your own mani (us), but you want a little something to jzuzj up your nails, this is THE ticket. It’s almost like a “your nails but better” color. One, quick coat just gives a little glossy gleam. Nothing compares. And yes we know, it’s essentially exactly the opposite of the title of this article, but since it’s called a nail “concealer” just let this one go.

Price: $20

7. Londontown in Mull It Over

WHY: Fine, we did it again. It’s red, and we promised we wouldn’t do red. But it’s such a luxe, rich, deep cherry red, it’s THE quintessential red for fall. And again, shockingly, this is one coat, using alarmingly minimal skill.

Price: $16
