This Brand Might Just Be The New J. Crew, But Half The Price

If you want to bathe in cashmere, please read on.

In our withered, old age, we’ve realized what makes us feel good in clothes, and it comes down to these two words:

Chic comfort.

If we love how an outfit looks but we aren't comfortable, we just won’t ever reach for it. If we love how an outfit feels but we don’t look incredible, we won’t reach for it.

And a BIG part of what creates comfort is another two words:

Fit and fabric.

If something fits well but the material isn’t soft, we won’t reach for it. If the fabric is luxe but we look like shlub, we won’t reach for it.

These HUGE realizations help guide us to never ever ever buy something we won’t wear, ever again. Look into the sea of clothes in your closet right now. Ok, just think about the sea of clothes of your closet. How many of those pieces in there do you really, truly love and wear all the time? We are embarrassed by our percentage.

So we stick to buying clothes from very few brands now. Basically only around EIGHT or so. Ones we trust. And there is a new brand we’ve recently discovered that is so good, and so exemplifies chic comfort perhaps more than any other brand on our radar right now:

Quince.

Sustainably made, gorgeous fabrics, and insanely affordable.

Now, typically we see “cashmere” and keep scrolling because every piece of cashmere we’ve ever seen is too rich for our blood. But the Quince cashmere pieces are so amazingly well priced, we all purchased their VIRAL sweater immediately, thinking there could be no way the quality would be nearly as luxurious as fancy cashmere. How wrong we were. So little by little we’ve tried more and more of their stuff to the point where behind the scenes we ask each other what Quince piece the other is wearing nearly every day (yes, we are all scattered behind the scenes, working from home, not in some big 13 Going On 30 offices, though maybe one day).

And so we thought Quince deserved its own dedicated, NOT SPONSORED round up of our favorite pieces they make, and the ones we wear essentially every day.

Get ready for MANY pieces of cashmere.

1. The Viral Sweater

Mongolian Cashmere Oversized Boyfriend Cardigan Sweater

You’ve been served an ad for this cashmere sweater no fewer than 47,896 times, yes? We’re here to tell you that this is the sweater of the season. This year, next year, every year. And yes, it’s every bit as soft and luxe as that other sweater that’s 4 times more expensive. (It might be…better?)

Price: $140

2. The slouchy Polo That Turns All Your Clothes Into Outfits

Mongolian Cashmere Polo Sweater

This cashmere sweater is THE “elevated basic.” We throw it on when we don’t know what to wear, and it’s always the right choice. It has that comfy, loose fit, but because it’s thin, it never looks bulky tucked in. We reach for it weekly. Twice weekly. And this price!

Price: $80

3. The cashmere skirt you didn’t know your closet was missing

Mongolian Cashmere Midi Skirt

Yes. A cashmere skirt. What are we, THE QUEEN?!

But for this price, it’s cheaper than almost any regular skirt with scratchy material that sits in our closets untouched.  We like to wear it more casj like this, to juxtapose the fanciness. It’s also perfection with a boot but we are writing this in California where it’s still a balmy 98 degrees, so we couldn’t stomach shoving our sweaty legs into hot leather for you right now.

Price: $100

5. The pop of color we all need to not be boring

Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater

We realized we were drowning in a sea of oatmeal and grey and wanted to bring a pop of color into our lives. We always fling this over your shoulders in fall in case it gets extra chilly at night, and it sort of elevates whatever you’re wearing to boot. And look at allllll the glorious colors!

Our styling below is giving Talbots, no? But in a chic way.

Price: $50

6. The luxe dress that wears like a French girl but feels like house clothes

Mongolian Cashmere Sleeveless Midi Sweater Dress

In a normal world, we would never dream of being able to afford a full dress made of cashmere. But in Quince World TM, we can. We love this sleeveless number as a more transitional piece that we wear with blazers and jackets, but they also do a LONG SLEEVE version that we’re lustily eyeing…

The cashmere is so unspeakably soft (we can’t reiterate enough that NOTHING is itchy about their cashmere), and it’s nice to have a slightly more dressy piece that feels so comfy you don’t even want to rip it off your body at the end of a long day.

Price: $110

7. The sweater that feels like a weighted blanket and looks like a million bucks

100% Organic Cotton Oversized Cable Cardigan

This sweater is what we dream about when we dream about fall.

It’s thick, it’s luxe, if this were from J. Crew or Anthro it would be twice the price, and the quality, we can personally attest, is gorgeous.

It runs slightly large so keep your normal size if you like a bit of an oversized fit or size down if not.

Price: $70

8. The cotton oversized slouchy sweater that will become the sweater you always reach for

100% Organic Cotton Boyfriend Crew Sweater

Some of you probably can’t do cashmere, even when it’s smooth and soft and not itchy. And we get it totally. And if that’s you (even if that’s not you), this sweater will be your new favorite sweater. Perfectly slouchy. Substantial but never too hot. Layerable but also perfect with just a pair of jeans.

See?

Price: $50

9. The moto leather jacket we all dream of owning but never buy because it’s too pricey

100% Leather Motorcycle Jacket

You KNOW you’ve had this persistent desire for a leather jacket but have never been able to justify the price. Most of them start around $500 and it feels truly crazy to indulge in that kind of price for something we can only wear for 2 seasons each year. If that.

But nearly a quarter of that price, and a leather jacket starts to feel verrrrrrry essential. This one is nipped at the waist in an extremely flattering way, has some roominess in the arm for maximum layering, and feels soft as butter. We did the brown because black felt too obvious, in a weird way.

Price: $150

Bonus: The housey wild-card we have to tell you about

Premium Down Alternative Comforter

Quince also dabbles in JEWELRY, DECOR, and very cute and deeply affordable BAGS. And so after being swept away by their cashmere, we dipped a toe in their home section to see if anything else seemed like an amazing bargain. And lo and behold, we found their down alternative comforter for HALF the price as most off-brand crap on Amazon. And we can personally attest to its crisp-but-soft comfort, warmth, and durability. We actually bought 2 because the price was so good and doubled them up in a duvet which is a little “hack” we do to make it feel like we live in an impossibly opulent hotel.

Price: $100 - $150
