This Is The Best Drugstore Foundation Hands Down. And It’s $12.
WHAT: CoverGirl Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation
WHY: First a disclaimer. The only reason we know about this product is because it went viral on TikTok. What are we doing on TikTok? That’s a conversation for another day.
So like all viral or viral-adjacent and cheap beauty products, we immediately bought it. Mostly with the intention of dispelling any myths around it (like we did with the crazy Peter Thomas Roth eye cream that seemed to turn back time, but which turned into a chalky dessert terrain after 9 minutes) so please please believe us when we say that we typically are EXPECTING catastrophic results.
But…here is a side by side of an extremely expensive foundation on the left, and the CoverGirl on the right.
And…..here’s a photo of it in the blazing sun showing every single possible detail.
We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves here but it’s safe to say we’ve tried maybe, oh, 45 different foundations just this year alone. And regardless of price, this $12 foundation stands out to us as one of the best. If not THE best.
It glides over textured skin almost as if it’s a primer itself, and then fills in pores like spackle. In the photos above, it’s worn over THIS moisturizer only, and as you can see, it glides on like glass. And for a truly poreless, flawless finish without looking cakey at all, we use THIS magic putty underneath. The two together creates some kind of witch’s brew of smoothness while also looking like a fresh, natural, second skin. We don’t question the magic. We’re just grateful it exists.
Honestly try it. It’s so cheap it’s laughable. We almost guarantee you’ll be reaching for it over your fancy schmancier stuff from Sephora.
