Jeans can be a hotbed of emotions.
Bad pairs make us feel like curling up into our sweats for eternity and good ones make us feel ready to conquer the world.
Keep in mind, nothing changes about us - all that changes is the jeans.
So as tired a cliché it is for us to complain about the woes of jeans shopping, it’s not as tired as we are of squeezing into sub-par jeans.
And that is why we’ve logged our 30,000 hours of stuffing ourselves into denim, and we’ve emerged with good news. There are incredible, joy-sparking jeans out there.

It’s very difficult for those of us with rounder bottoms and thicker thighs to find a straight-leg jean that fits well. They taper in weird places and flatten us in others. And if they manage to smoothly glide over our hips, they gap horrendously at the waist. Needless to say trying on these jeans was an emotional moment for us. The fit is extraordinary on curves. If you’re in the market for the chicest, most flattering wide-leg ankle jeans, we’re ready to just bite the bullet and declare that these are them. Anyone with a belly pooch knows the waistline of jeans can feel like a waking nightmare. We are so done with tight waists and spillover round our middles. These jeans have such a casually cool 90s shape that actually looks good on every body type, but for apples in particular, we feel understood by these jeans. Our waistlines feel held in but not restricted. The leg is wide but also slimming somehow. We’d venture to say the price is the best part, but no, it’s the fit. We’d probably have spent twice as much for how good it is.

4. The Ones For Thick Thighs

There is something so classic about the cut of these famous Madewell jeans. This may not make sense to those of you who don’t have rounder hips but they sort of “set” our curves in all the right places. There’s hold to them but also a very comfy level of stretch. And the tailoring makes your legs look inches longer, which is great for those of us with thicker thighs. We wear them belted with all our beloved sweaters because they’re one of our favorite pairs of long jeans to style into fall and winter outfits.

5. The Most Flattering Plus Size

If you hang out around here with us at all, you’ve probably seen the pants version of these jeans. We write about them often, because they’re kind of magic in how great they feel and look on every body type but especially on anyone with curves. The same goes for the jeans.
