Let’s get right into. Here she is:

Now, it’s very possible the perfection of this look is because that particular shade of blonde is so soft, so striking, so utterly reminiscent of all those gorgeous, unbrassy blonde bombshells from the 1950s, and without that, our makeup recreation is immaterial.

But if we’re really going down that path, it’s also highly possible that what allows this makeup look to really sing is the fact that it’s on the features of a huge movie star who is preternaturally beautiful and possesses a near-perfect face.

So let’s, for a moment, just ignore those things. Mmk?

Because we actually think this look is not only possible, but wildly doable, even for those of us who are helpless at makeup. Furthermore, we feel that it’s the kind of look that will be really, really lovely on almost anyone. And it only takes a handful of products—some you need the exact one, others you probably have lying around collecting dust in your bathroom.

1. Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation

This is the heartbeat of this whole thing—her matte skin is absolutely what has made this look endure. And if you don’t have this exact foundation, nothing else will work. Especially if you’re over 40. Why? It is literally the only truly matte foundation that doesn’t exacerbate lines or texture, and instead just blurs the skin out to utter, filtered perfection. The result is a flawless, pore-less complexion that honestly looks airbrushed in real life. It lasts for 24 hours without budging (don’t dare dream of using a powder with it), and even though it’s fully matte, it will never look cakey. We mix one big drop of it with our moisturizer and swirl and blend out with this brush*. Our post-40 skin has never looked better. Ps: they also make an UNREAL concealer that has undeniable coverage but doesn’t make our eye wrinkles worse. We’re not sure how. But it’s true.

We know picking a color online is annoying but the Estée Lauder site makes it supremely easy.

2. Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic in Ecstasy

This is another specific product that’s sort of essential, because no other matte, powder blush is as gorgeously sheer and skin-blurring as this one. It has the tiniest bit of glow, but there is ZERO flecks of shimmer or glimmer. It’s sort of astonishing. We love the color ecstasy* for a pinky/peachy/ultra natural flush if you don’t want to have to think about choosing a color.

3. Jones Road The bronzer

We cannot ignore the elephant in the room any longer. Most of us look more beautiful when we are bronzed. Not ALL of us. Most. Of course there are alabaster-complected beauties among us. But in this case, Rachel M is bronzed to the heavens, and there is zero shimmer to be seen. We looooooove this Jones Road bronzer* because A. It comes in a few shades so you can choose the exact tone you love (we feel the shade Golden Tan* is what would match Rachel’s look) and B. It makes our pores disappear. Nothing muddy, nothing orangey, it just looks like you’ve been kissed by the actual sun on a skiing vacation. We love using it with this brush*.

4. Mac Lustreglass Sheer-Shine Lipstick in Alone Time

We just discovered this lipstick dupe for Chanel boy called Alone Time by Mac* and it’s this soft, barely-there color that mostly just makes your lips look plumper while not really screaming “hi I’m lipstick.” It’s the quintessential “your lips but better” look that we’re all so desperately trying to find. And we found it.

5. Merit Signature

Lip Liner In Bespoke

This liner has been out of stock for months, so when it came back in stock, specifically the color bespoke, we bought 5. We couldn’t live like that again. This liner is unlike any liner we have ever tried—see this article to see it in action. The before and after is almost not to be believed. It creates almost like a shadow around the lips but never looks linery. We will truly never use another lip liner ever again.

6. Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara

Brown mascara is key for this very soft look, and thank GOD our beloved Ilia recently came out with one. If you love long, feathery lashes that never clump, while never irritating even the most sensitive eyes, welcome to your new favorite mascara.

7. Natasha denona mini eye sculpt eyeshadow palette

These are the right shades. They’re all buttery soft. They don’t have fall out. The price is right. We can’t get into a whole eyeshadow tutorial here, but go with your instincts. Use a lighter brown under the eye than you might expect to create more of a halo rather than a darkness. Try a few times. You’ll get it.
