Here’s Your (Our) Dreamlist Of What To Stuff In Your Own Stocking This Year Cause No One Else Is Gonna Do It

There is no steeper downward trajectory from elation to disappointment than how we felt opening our stockings as kids to how we feel opening them now.
We’re not complaining. We love our families.
But we are the designated stocking stuffers of our respective households - a duty we love. A duty we respect. And we imagine, since you’re here, you are, too.
We spend all of December sneaking treat after treat after careful, thoughtful, joy-sparking treat into the stockings of others. All the while ours remains deflated and sad. To the point that we find ourselves stuffing handfuls of Lindt Peppermint Bark and the odd pair of fuzzy socks leftover from a gift set into our own stocking just so it all looks more symmetrical … and so we have something to do while others are giddily digging through their stockings.
So maybe. Maybe. We sort of are complaining.
But only because we so deeply love a stocking. We love the little things. The tiny, repetitive hits of serotonin. The small luxuries we wouldn’t buy ourselves. The feeling of being spoiled without spending an actual fortune.
So we decided to make a list of all the things we’d stuff into our own stocking as if we were just another member of our household whose duty it was for us to delight come Christmas morning. Needless to say, it was great fun.

Why we love it: Please, don’t, for the love of God, buy us another itchy Amazon scarf that’s made of some plastic parading itself as yarn. This is the dream, oversized scarf made of superfine alpaca and pima cotton that you want to bury your face in because it’s so heavenly and cloudlike. And the width is chef’s kiss in terms of chicness. It also comes in the prettiest pale gray, but there’s something so quiet luxury about camel.

4. Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal Liner
Why we love it: You can do an entire, perfect, smokey eye with this one liner. We even wrote a whole thing about it. The cream formula doesn’t drag or sink into creases, and the cinnamon color is so deep and rich, it feels like a luxury, even though it’s deeply practical (hence us needing a new one). That said, they just came out with an enchanting color called cocoa pavé that was made for moody New Year’s parties.

5. Furtuna Skin Due Alberi Biphase Moisturizing Oil
Why we love it: This is another item that could easily be its own gift, and we of course included it in our Gift Guide. Perhaps, you’ve heard the buzz around this oil (we personally write about it constantly). Even though you only need a few drops, and one bottle lasts and lasts and lasts, we can’t be without it, and therefore will never not have it on our wishlist. Why we love it: We can’t explain why a ring is still the most exciting gift we can see twinkling from a gift box, but it is. This one twinkles with a force. It’s 14k gold and real diamonds but somehow costs less than that robe we’d rather no one would buy us.

Why we love it: We’ve never had anyone smell this scent and not say “What is that? I have to get it.” We thought about buying it for all of them, but then, we got really selfish about wanting it to be our signature scent. And so, into the stocking it goes. We might, however, get them the dryer sheets*. They’re a bit of magic.
