An Easy Morning Skincare Regimen If You Have Zero Time Or Inclination

by Marissa Pomerance

What were your beauty resolutions this year?

To always remove your make-up before bed? To stop doing your makeup like you did 15 years ago? To finally invest in that potion claiming to erase wrinkles, and give you the glow of a glazed donut?

Or perhaps it was “do more than roll out of bed in the morning before applying makeup, and learn what the fuck serums are.”

Skincare regimens are usually all about the nighttime; some of our favorite products include PM-focused sleeping masks, overnight lip treatments, and heavy oils and serums that can only be worn at night since they just cannot elegantly layer under a full-face of makeup without causing continuous meltage throughout the day.

It’s unsurprising, then, that our AM routines often go overlooked. But, look. We have time now. Do the steps. It will set up a feeling of accomplishment for the rest of the day. Because if you can commit to a daily skincare regimen, you can fucking do anything.

1. Splash/Cleanse

In this case, because you’ve completed your evening skincare regimen, you won’t have makeup to wash off. RIGHT? So in fact, a quick cold water splash might be all you need.

If you’re a “I have to cleanse my face in the am or else I will feel caked in dirt” person, we suggest this cult-loved cleanser for nearly any skin type for a lovely, fresh, non-stripping experience.

2. Spritz

Do you NEED a face spray in the morning? No. Does it “do” anything? Who knows.

Will it wake you up and make you feel refreshed and start off your day with a moment of hydrating zen bliss?

You bet.

3. Use THIS Serum

We know. Serums are a confusing nightmare.

So if you’re going to bother with any serum in the morning, make it this one.

Along with 15% Vitamin C, the Glow Maker has a concoction of Vitamin E, ferulic acid, meaning it brightens while providing plenty of antioxidants for warding off all those free radicals you’re (probably) coming into contact with all day long.

Also it’s $28.

4. Combine Your Moisturizer and SPF Into 1 Easy Step

Yes, you need to moisturize during the day, even if you’re an oily gal. Moisturizer provides another protective barrier for your skin during the day, locking in hydration and that fancy serum you just took time to apply.

And we’re not even going to start on SPF; you already know you should be wearing sunscreen every day. You’ve heard it from your derm. You’ve heard it from your aesthetician. You don’t need to hear it again from us.

If you love simplifying your life, we suggest combining the two by finding an excellent moisturizer with a real, effective level of SPF, and no one does it better than this one.

There, that wasn’t so bad, was it?
