These Are The Only 9 Things We Bought This Spring And NONE Of Them Are Trendy

by The Candidly Team

Perhaps this should be a series? We shared all the “pieces” we bought for fall that weren’t trendy and you guys seemed to love that one, too. Why is “pieces” such an annoying fashiony word that makes us want to claw our eyes out? We’ll never know!

Moving swiftly on.

A lot of what you’ll see below might be considered “basics” but that’s such a woefully unhelpful word, because you can basically have an entire wardrobe of basics and still hate everything in your closet. The key is finding the right basics, which means, more than anything, you like how they feel on your body, and you feel like a million bucks whenever you catch a glimpse of yourself. Those are hard to find.

But we promise you, all 9 of these fit those criteria.

1. The “we can’t keep up with which shape of jeans is in style now” jeans that look UNREAL on everyone

What: Abercrombie Curve Love Ultra High Rise Ankle Straight Jeans

Why we love it: Straight leg jeans were out for a while. Now maybe they’re in again? Are skinny jeans totally out now, too? Oh, and we just heard some “Gen Z” chatter about low rise jeans are coming back? Which is a perpetually hard no for us.

Trends be damned, these jeans are the single most flattering jeans on curves, and you will NEVER HAVE A WAIST GAP. Never. Full of stretch, skims and flattens your tummy, comfortable as all get out. If they’re actually in stock (which they rarely are) buy them immediately. You won’t regret it.

Price: $99

2. The Breeziest Button-Down Shirt

What: Abercrombie Oversized Poplin Button-Up Shirt

Why we love it: A button down shirt feels so basic we almost forget about it. But a cool, lightweight, soft classic like this one is perfect with jeans, open with a tank under it (keep scrolling for the best tank on planet earth) and even though it’s very casj, you will always look put together and crisp.

We love this one from Abercrombie (yes, Abercrombie again!) because it feels as though we’ve already had it for 10 years.

Price: $60

3.The Most Comfortable Heels We’ve Ever Worn

What: Marc Fisher Zala Block Heel Pump

Why we love it: We might get these in every color. And when we say “might” we of course mean “will.”

Plus, they come in wide.

Price: $160

4. THE most flattering Ribbed tank

What: James Perse Ribbed Knit Tank

Why we love it: This tank top is SO UNBELIEVABLY FLATTERING. The small ribbing cinches your waist and perks up your girls. It’s truly the greatest tank we’ve ever worn and we bought it in every, single color. Paired with THESE? Unspeakably chic.

Price: $35

5. the sandals that will change your life

What: Caslon Aliyah Slingback Sandal

Why we love it: These are, without question or hesitation, the single most comfortable sandals we have ever worn in our entire lives. Do we have them in all 4 colors? Possibly.

Price: $42-$46

6. The perfect flouncy dress to wear to brunch or a party or your couch

What: Hill House The Ellie Nap Dress

Why we love it: Ok we lied. This is the most trendy thing we could have possibly bought. But we included it to show that sometimes trends really work. And this dress is one of those trends. Gorgeous on every body type, flattering as hell, gorgeous colors and patterns, and goes to a 2XL.

We’re all in.

Price: $125-$150

7. The most flattering skirt in the world

What: Spanx AirEssentials Midi Skirt

Why we love it: Yes! Spanx!

A column skirt is such an essential. Gorgeous with an open, oversized, Oxford shirt layered over a tank. Chic with a blazer (THIS ONE might be the best of all time). Casj paired with sneaks and sweaters like in the photo. No matter your size or shape, a column skirt can look effortless and flattering.

And this skirt feels like you’re wearing pajamas, which is of course our life’s goal.

Price: $88

8. This Shirt dress so we can always look like Rachel mcAdams in midnight in Paris

What: Nordstrom Long Sleeve Shirtdress

Why we love it: We also included our inspo photo (see below) because ever since we saw Rachel’s effortless shirtdresses paired with espadrilles of walkable height, we’ve thought of nothing else.

Shirt dresses can be so hard because they’re too short or too long or too wide and you end up looking like a pile of wrinkled laundry.

But this one. Oh, this one is perfect. It’s timeless. It’s impossibly chic. And we bought it in 2 colors. Oops.

Price: $89

9. The Jean Jacket That Goes With Everything

What: Universal Standard Kelsey Denim Jacket

Why we love it: You can throw a jean jacket on over any dumb jumpsuit or long skirt or THIS perfect lounge dress and POOF! Suddenly you’re wearing an outfit. This one has a gorgeous hint of stretch so you never feel oppressed, and its casj, effortless vibe means you will always look stylish without seeming like you even tried to look stylish which is apparently the only point of clothes because fashion is dumb but we don’t make the rules.

Price: $128
