So many limited drama series seem to be following a recipe that lures us into imagining ourselves living in immense houses with fabulous wardrobes and unimaginable wealth.

And, in the case of The Five-Star Weekend, adding Jen Garner to that mix was a stroke of genius.

When we’re weren’t googling whether her fairyland Nantucket estate was AI-generated, we were wondering where she got her clothes.

Even though the star of every outfit might be Jen’s arms, we were also taken by the colorful swirl of non-boring summer dresses, soft cashmeres, light linens - all the things you expect a decadent, seaside-chic wardrobe to be.

Now, unlike Jen’s character, Hollis Shaw, we are not stunningly famous food bloggers and we don’t own Nantucket estates, so when we decided to search for all her clothes, we actually found much more reasonably priced alternatives to her exact wardrobe.

If you’ve ever dreamed of strolling along the beach in a cocooning cardigan before tossing on a maxi dress and dashing out with wavy hair to dine on a Michelin-starred lobster roll, these looks might speak to your soul. And if you’re still just thinking about Jen’s arms, here is what WE use to move our arms 3 times a week even though we hate working out.

But back to the clothes. There are 9 looks that stayed in our heads from the series. And here’s how to recreate them.

1. The PINK DRESS

The sea of fit-and-flare dresses Jen breezes around in scene after scene reminded us just how exciting it is to find a beautiful-fitting, one-and-done dress that makes us look put together all by itself. The fit is what makes it a thrilling thing for us to grab off the hanger but the color is what makes us look thrilling to everyone else.

  • The Pink Linen Shirt Dress*: The salmon pink! The fit! This dress has all of it. However, it’s a 10th of the price of Jen’s.

  • The Floral Shirt Dress*: This one is the exact color as Jen’s with even more movement and flowiness, but with long sleeves ( a plus for those of us who don’t love showing our arms) and the prettiest floral embroidery.

2. The STRIPED BUTTON-DOWN ENSEMBLES

Once you slip on a striped button-down, be it tucked or tied or left loose and blowing in the wind, your whole outfit looks 5x more “quiet luxury.” Add a loose linen pant or a tailored pair of shorts and whoosh, you’re obviously the owner of a Nancy Meyers-inspired kitchen who makes breathtaking floral arrangements for your entry table.

  • The Perfect Poplin Shirt*: We’ve personally been wearing this 100% organic cotton button-down connnnnstantly. It’s less than $40 from Quince but as good as designer.

  • The Supremely Soft Button-Down*: So soft and gauzy and magically … flattering!

  • The Trouser Shorts*: We’ve LOVED the pants version of these shorts for a long time. And like the pants, these make legs look longer and leaner and waists look nipped, and they’re pretty much the only style that makes shorts look chic. Especially with the above button-down. Foolproof.

  • The Blue Linen Pants*: There are lots of good, wide-leg linen pants out there but none of them are this perfect Cape Cod blue. And this affordable.

3. The KNIT TANK AND POPLIN TROUSER

A 3-step outfit template that looks effortlessly chic on every shape of woman. Just follow the formula:

  • The Knit Tank*: Our personal favorite is waist-nipping, 100% cotton, covers any bra you should fancy, and costs $32.

  • The Tan Barrel Pant*: We highly recommend rolling these up just like Jen’s.

  • The Two-Tone Belt*: This is such a clever way to instantly elevate a top and pants while making it more nautical-chic.

Oh and if you feel like adding her navy linen blaze and classic tote, we highly recommend it:

The Linen Blazer*: This comes from one of our favorite British brands. The quality is the kind that lasts a lifetime.

The Tote*: The obvious New Englander’s choice, including the iconic, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.

4. The CHECKERED DRESS

We all want that one-and-done, domestic goddess dress that gives us our finest hourglass, do we not?

5. The Perfect Linen Pants And Cashmere Pullover

Here’s where we really fell in love - the creamy cashmere pullover tucked into the light linen pant. So effortless. So chic. So minimalist. We found the entire look, real cashmere and all, for less than the price of one pair of designer jeans.

The Cashmere Pullover*: This is the kind of sweater you buy in four colors because it’s real cashmere and exquisite quality and costs $50. But start with the ivory. It’s the white winter sweater of our dreams.

The White Linen Trousers*: This 100% European linen, pleated trouser is smooth in the front and elastic in the back so it looks wildly chic but feels like pajamas.

The Buttery Leather Belt*: This color isn’t tan and isn’t brown and isn’t gray. It’s a unique and lovely neutral that gorgeously sets off whites and creams.

The Raffia Bag*: The ultimate summer/weekend bag.

6. THE TEXTURED SWEATERS

Add a little texture to your knits and suddenly you look like someone who “invests” in their clothes and knows instinctively which sole filet is the freshest and which kind of apple to buy and how to style a white, linen pant etc. etc. You get the idea. You’re effortlessly and coastally (should be a word) chic.

  • The Cableknit Cardigan*: We’ve been wearing this impressively low-priced, perfect quality, oversized cardigan in tan and navy on repeat every windy night of the past two years. It makes any boring monochrome thing we wear into a “look.” The “coastal grandmother” look specifically.

  • The Cute Crewneck*: We kinda needed to find that faded redwood color for ourselves. So we did. That said, there’s a very affordable cashmere cableknit we also love from Quince that lives HERE.

7. THE STRIPED SWIMSUIT

Stripes are universally elegant. But this swimsuit is pure Americana. The exact one Jen is wearing is more than $700, and that’s simply insane for a swimsuit, but we found one we love even more that we wear with a long, white, open button-down cover-up from J.Crew, and it’s become our forever poolside uniform.

  • The Suit*: Vertical stripes. Wheeeee!

  • The Cover-Up*: Completely covers your butt, but still shows off lotsa leg.

8. THE BLACK AND WHITE SUMMER DREss

Oh look, another breezy, flattering dress you can throw on in the heat and look wildly elegant and lobster-dinner ready. Worth noting, the EXACT dress* from Rails is still available in blue. But if the black and white is what thrilled you, here’s two that achieve the same effect:

The Black-and-White Embroidered Dress*: Also from Rails. Also stunning.

The Easy Cotton Fit-And-Flare Dress*: The shape is ultra-feminine and flattering, and the embroidery at the bottom is even better than the one on Jen’s dress.

9. THE DREAM LOUNGEWEAR

Weekends have always been for lounging, but the time has come in our lives to do it right by owning the good, grown-up lounge stuff we feel we’ve earned because we’re 40 and Target pajamas feel like cardboard after a wash. So here’s the good stuff.

The Cashmere Cardigan We Personally Live In*: Yes, this is the viral ribbed fisherman sweater, and no, not the one that costs $500.

The Soft, Squishy Pants*: Made of something called “CloudComfort” and all we can say is they are buuuuutttttery.

The Fancy-Cozy Socks*: Sweet, sweet cashmere and just $30, which means we can buy these for those four beloved women we’re weekending with.
