Stop Using A Bright Concealer To Cover Your Dark Circles. This Is The ONLY Color That Actually Works.

We think that because we have dark circles and bags, we need bright, light concealers to cover them up.
But we are actually making them look even more prominent!

We actually need to wear peachy, natural, or more true-skin shades to counteract the dark, and, quite frankly, if you have true bags, concealer makes them look worse, so in that case, only use a tiny bit of a pencil concealer or try this! Not a concealer at all!

Ok, so here’s our 4 favorite, more natural, slightly peachy concealers and why we love them so.

1. Jones Road The Face Pencil

A pencil seems scary because you’d think it would be dry, but Bobbi B knows what she’s doing. She’s always made mature-skin friendly products, and this pencil is no different—it’s so easy to get into the tear duct, scribble a bit under the nose or to cover any veins, and because it has a tip, it also easily can be pressed onto a blemish or scar. Also, we know that choosing a shade is the actual nightmare of concealers and foundations, especially online, and the Jones Road site is THE best at narrowing down your options* so that you’re totally confident in your color choice. Audie loves shade 13, and Carolyn loves shade 6.

2. Estée Lauder Double WearStay-in-Place 24-Hour Concealer

We recently realized that Estée Lauder is actually really, really good and isn’t just for our grandmothers, and we wrote a whole thing about doing a full face of it HERE and potentially our favorite takeaway from doing that was discovering this INCREDIBLE concealer. Literally nothing we’ve ever used lasts this long, covers so much, while never looking heavy or cakey. It feels like a true modern miracle. Remember to select a more peachy shade and not the typical light/bright/white you normally would.

3. Kosas Revealer Concealer

If you don’t that have much to cover, and love a more serumy texture, this concealer has many peachy shades and never settles into fine lines.

Price: $32

4. Merit The Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Stick

This one is truly for those of us who have a total of 1.2 minutes in the morning to get ready—it doubles as a concealer and a foundation, so choose the shade you’d choose for a foundation, and it will work as a concealer color  as well. Their site also has a very smart shade finder* so you’ll never make a mistake. The finish is very skin-like, though if you’re supremely oily, you might want to skip it. But combo to dry, this will be your new fave thing.
