Ah. Boot season. And even though we’re writing this missive to you in sunny Southern California, we are presently wearing these boots.
Before you say they’re too chunky, allow us to try and convince you that they are in fact the world’s perfect boot.
1. They make you look tall but without a heel so you can be tall AND comfortable all day.
2. Looking tall = looking thin.
3. All those long pants and jeans you have that you haven’t worn because they’re too long or they require heels so you don’t like to wear them for all-day excursions because you’re too old to sacrifice foot comfort anymore? Yes. These boots.
4. They also make almost every one of your midi or maxi skirts look cooler and better
5. If you feel dumb in all those girly/fancy dresses for the holidays, may we submit to you again, these boots?
And now, some looks. Because words are boring.
The barrel sweatpants look that’s 2 ticks above just wearing actual pajamas except it’s chic and put together and no one has to know that it’s so comfortable you forget you’re wearing real clothes. This hat* is the best for when you haven’t washed your hair in 3-12 days and that crossbody bag* is magic for making any look seem smarter. But of course. The boots. They are the key to making those (decidedly incredible) pants come to life.
The magic, “a little bit sexy” outfit that is so mindless but totally comes together with these boots, doesn’t it? The jeans* are pricey so we’re showing you the side and back to see how unbelievably flattering they are especially on hard-to-fit bodies. And for that we’ll pay almost anything.
You knew the skirt* was coming. And we will give full credit to THIS show which inspired our love of combining light colored satin skirts with chunky boots—we began that juxtapositional journey 4 years ago and we haven’t looked back. Maybe the hat is also inspired? Perhaps. We are also declaring the denim shirt as the single most versatile piece of clothing you can own (and nothing fits better than this one), and we are declaring this bag* the single most unnecessary, ridiculous bag you can own.
Well, we saved the most unhinged for last. But this is to both show that you can (and should) just wear the weird clothes in your closet, and to show off this impeccable skirt* from Rowing Blazers that looks SO incredible with these boots and if this look doesn’t go viral we’re going to be very perturbed. Not to mention the perfect this perfect hat (which is from Banana Republic and have you been in one lately? WOW they’ve done back to their roots and they are SO GOOD now) and the incredible sweater vest which we know seems a little bizarre but is actually infinitely cool.
So in conclusion, these boots are magic. Oh, and they have this little padded thing embedded into the footbed to cushion the ball of the foot that’s so comfortable and dreamy we don’t even take our boots off when we get home. So do with that what you will.
Price: $210
When we wear all black (cuz we’re boring) we tend to want to wear a black shoe, but a TAN* one is so much chicer. And again, since we know the goal here, it allows us to be mindless and boring with our clothes while never actually appearing mindless and boring. (Ps: those jeans are a miracle* and they’re affordable.)
