The Best Bottled Ketchup On Earth Has A Bizarre Secret Ingredient

WHAT: Sir Kensington’s Classic Ketchup

WHY: People are very passionate when it comes to ketchup. And rightly so. Of course, Heinz is the de facto choice. Hunt’s, maybe a distant second. Depending on what part of the country you’re from, Del Monte also might mean something to you.

All other ketchup brands basically run together.

But we are here today to implore you to change all that, and try Sir Kensington’s ketchup.

It has an almost...Bloody Mary quality to the flavor—slightly peppery, with a lingering subtle spice. And the texture is a little bit more cocktail sauce-esque. Rich, subtly chunky, verging on decadent. You almost won’t want to drown your fries with it, but rather dip each one delicately.

Almost.

So what about the flavor “profile”? First, there is no corn syrup. And there is no ludicrously named “natural flavoring.”

But there is....

Allspice.

It’s really the forgotten spice, isn’t it? Allspice is actually a dried berry, and adds a slightly nutty, cinnamony, clovey hit to the tomato, cutting the sweetness and adding actual, you know, flavor

And think of it this way, now when you drag your beautifully cooked forkful of steak through a mound of ketchup, you’ll feel like less of a rube.

Who thinks “subtly chunky” is a good album title?
