We do, of course, love a luxe product. Some of our indisputable favorites are THIS, THIS, THIS, and THIS.
We are also elitist, packaging snobs—so much so that we wrote an entire article dedicated to products with hideous packaging, even though they’re actually quite good products. Such was our distaste for buying anything non-aesthetically pleasing.
This is a lot of preamble to basically say: we like high-end shit. And for a drugstore product to make it onto our daily roster, it has to be exquisitely good. And these 12 products are exactly that—each one is peerless in their category, and they’re just as good if not better than any of their expensive counterparts.
Let’s go.
4. Avène Tolerance Control Skin Recovery Balm
Incredibly rich and hydrating, this formula is amazing for rosacea and sensitivity, but if you just want a really rich, expensive feeling cream and you don’t have particularly sensitive skin, try this*.
Price: $38
5. Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo and Conditioner
Using the shampoo and conditioner along with the leave-in* has made our thin, breakage-prone hair stronger and thicker than any other shampoo/condish combo we’ve ever used. And the scent is intoxicating.
Price: $34 for the shampoo, $34 for the conditioner
6. Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream
We use very expensive eye creams and we also come back to this. We layer it under THIS magic product that gets rid of 90% of our eye bags.
Price: $34
7. Magic Molecule Hypochlorous Acid Spray
This spray will stop a zit in its tracks, soothe eczema, banish itchiness, minimize redness, temper rosacea, reduce acne overall, and about 47 other shockingly effective things. It’s the most slept-on, catch-all product and we don’t understand how it’s not viral.
Price: $20
8. Olay Super Serum 5-in-1 Renewing Face Serum
If you’re tired of thinking about vitamin c and peptides and glycolic acids and all the rest of it but you want an effective, everyday serum for fire skin that will reduce fine lines and brighten your complexion overall in a noticeable way, just. use. this.
Price: $44
11. Naturium The Glow Getter Multi-Oil Body Butter
If it’s good enough for Demi Moore it’s good enough for us.
Price: $14
At The Candidly, we try a lot of stuff so you don’t have to. We only recommend things we truly love, and that we think you’ll love, too. All products are chosen independently by our creative team, and all details reflect the price and availability of products at the time of publication.
