What, by god, is going on with Nicole Kidman’s sweaters?! Every show, movie, cameo she makes these days seems to feature a 100k budget for cashmere.
Last year, we couldn’t stop thinking about her coats. And now, we’re convinced she must have a clause written into her contract promising her characters will wear the luxest, most gorgeous, cocooning sweaters that she herself gets to take home.
Are we being too niche here?
We don’t think so. And anyway there’s nothing niche about wanting to own the luxest, most gorgeous, cocooning sweaters. And sweater season is upon us, my friends (how?!).
Our only holdup when sweater shopping is that we don’t personally have a 100k budget set aside for cashmere.
Well, settle in my fellow sweater people because not only did we pick out all of our favorites of Nicole’s knits, but we found a far more affordable version of each. It’s little something we like to call practical magic. Please don’t leave because we wrote that.

If we’re not swaddling ourselves in a longline sweater on a white sand beach in Cape Cod, pondering all the twists and turns of our lives, are we even really living? Also, why does every drama series these days take place on a luxury mansion in Cape Cod where we end up wanting all the clothes?

5. The Sailor Sweater from The Perfect Couple

Her exact cardi (no longer sold) came from The Great, and it was artful and nautical and amazing, and, of course, we’ll link you to a very similar version from the brand HERE. But that fisherman-sweater shape, divinely cozy fit, and fair isle print is also captured in THIS* much less spendy version.

This is what Quince does best: real, sumptuous cashmere we keep forever in classic cuts that are as good as designer but don’t cost half a grand. We own this one in an embarrassing number of colors.

5. The Cocooning Cardis From Practical Magic (1 and 2!)

Nicole’s boho spin on New England witchiness in PM is perfectly imagined in her knitwear. Again, it’s all about chunky texture and grand sizing so we feel enveloped in the love of a good sweater. This one has an almost curved shape and balloon sleeve that’s very flattering.
Quince Mongolian Cashmere Oversized Boyfriend Cardigan Sweater
If you ignore everything else we’ve shown you thus far, just get this chic, chic cardigan and be done with it. It’s the blissful, warm, sweet thing we slip into with cups of tea and absorbing books and messy buns and cuddly dogs and midnight margaritas and rosemary short bread biscuits and all the other specific things we do in our lives to curate comfort and joy.

It’s all about that warm, creamy, fall color, no? We’ll never achieve the hair, but we’ll settle for the sweater.
