This Is The Perfect Fall Outfit. It’s Affordable, It’s Comfortable, It’s All From One Brand, And I’m Not Taking Rebuttals At This Time.
Unsurprisingly, it’s all from Quince.

Ok, so it’s just a sweater and jeans and boots.
And it looks like this:
Sweater* size xs | Barrel Jeans* size 29 | Boots* size 8
Sweater* size xs | Barrel Jeans* size 29 | Boots* size 8
Sweater* size xs | Barrel Jeans* size 29 | Boots* size 8
But let’s quickly run through why it’s not just a sweater and jeans and boots.
1. This sweater is unbelievably flattering while having SUCH roomy arms.
WHAT: Mongolian Cashmere Dolman Sleeve Henley Sweater*
I have chunky arms. I just do. Which means every time I buy a sweater that fits at the waist it’s like a boa constrictor on the arms—but not this one. It’s dolman-style so there’s lots of flounce, and yet, it doesn’t look overly “drapey” which I find matronly. The style is sort of like a henley so if, like me, you usually feel as though you’re being strangled by high neck sweaters, you can unbutton this baby down until things get weird. As a big-bosomed girl, I always think it’s flattering to have lots of skin showing. And it nips in at the waist instead of being something that requires constant tucking and adjusting—aka heaven. Miraculously, it’s soft as a lamb’s ear and grade A cashmere, and yet, the price is gobsmacking. I will imminently be purchasing the ivory*, navy*, and denim*. I’m wearing a size xs if you can believe it—so it runs large.
Price: $90
2. The barrel jeans that changed my mind about barrel jeans
WHAT: Bella Stretch Barrel Jeans*
I love these pink barrels, and of course, these black barrels, but the very first barrel I tried where I actually thought they looked flattering on me were these barrels from Quince*. See HERE for why I was so down on them for so long. But this pair have such a glorious amount of stretch so they feel like stretchy house pants, not gross/tight jeans, and crucially, they look INCREDIBLE on the backside. Barrels will never give that hoisted, high peach look like this, but depending on the pocket placement (which is KEY to any pair of jeans) they can really widen which is not the “vibe” as the kids say. And this placement is pretty perfect—especially on a large OR age-flattened rump. Evidence:
Price: $50
3. The boots with enough room in the calf at an insane price AND they’re walk-all-day comfortable AND make me taller!
WHAT: Italian Leather Block Heel Boot*
I have lots of taller heel boots, but I always come back to these because I am, at time of writing, 36 days from turning 50 and if you think foot pain is going to play ANY role in the next half century of living, you’re mistaken. You can’t see them from my outfit but they’re tall, so I wear them constantly with all manner of skirts in the fall. But this kind of chunky heel with a pair of jeans just feels 90s in the best possible way—from someone who actually lived through the 90s. I also have the black pair* in my cart as we speak.
Price: $218
And then, for one of my 37 pieces of flair, I like to swap the boots for these LIFE-ALTERING SILVER SLINGBACK HEELS*. I had to write that phrase in all caps to emphasize how deep and expansive my feelings are for these shoes. I truly didn’t realize that what my entire wardrobe has been missing is silver heels. These heels are extremely comfy for heels, and so far, I’ve only worn them with jeans because I like the contrast, but I will be branching out shortly.
And here are all the other bits and bobs I’m wearing in the above photos—I really do wear these nearly every day, but I also piled on everything Quince to make things easy for you to shop in one place:
The Thin Necklace*: This is part of my everyday stack that I never take off.
The Thick Necklace*: Also a critical part of my everyday stack.
The Pearl Necklace*: I LOVE wearing these pearls with a casual outfit. But I never wear them with a dressy outfit.
The Thick Ring*: Chic and well priced.
The Thin Ring*: Diamonds and amazing price.
The Huggies*: I leave these in my ears, and with my aging eyes, I love how easy they are to snap into my lobes.
The Moisturizer*: This is dumb but I am “wearing” it, and I was astonished when I found out Quince carries beauty products—and you earn points back to purchase other stuff.
