This Sweater Is The Most Complimented Piece In Our Entire Wardrobe

WHY: We are not cool. We are not hip. We’re so not cool and not hip that we don’t know if hip is a word people use anymore.
So clothes that seem too “cool girl” sort of scare us. We like classic things. We don’t want to use the word “safe” but if we’re being totally honest, that’s probably the right word to use.
And so, we were surprised when we realized that two years after we first laid our Gen X eyes upon this cool girl sweater, we were still thinking about it. One might say dreaming about it, but we won’t be admitting that to the internet. Except we just did. Ok, but here’s the sweater so like, can you blame us?
This sweater is not necessary to own. It’s not a “basic.” It’s actually a little bit hard to know exactly what to wear it with. And yet, it’s one of our favorite pieces of clothing of all time. And it’s, without a doubt, the most complimented piece of clothing we’ve ever worn. Oh, and to further intimidate, it’s quite an investment piece.
So let’s look at what we feel is the best color combination of all time, styled in 3 different ways:

It’s 100% ribbed cashmere, blessedly has pockets, the fit is so wildly flattering, and we like wearing it both open with a tank and fully buttoned as almost a sweatershirt hybrid—one of our little tricks for looking extra chic. The position of those stripes is just beyond, isn’t it? Also just stripes in general are always a yes. Are you seeing why this sweater danced in our minds for over two years?
