by The Candidly Team
We recently made a long-overdue decision that’s made us look into our closets with love instead of hate You ready?
We only buy clothes that haunt us after deciding not to buy them.
By doing this, we ensure that every new item of clothing that enters our household is beloved, that it looks beautiful on our bodies, and that getting dressed is easier because we own it.
There are 7 such pieces we accumulated this summer. None of them were flighty, wear-once, impulse buys. Most of them are actually pieces we can wear all year and for years to come that we’d joyfully add to our capsule wardrobe.
Best to just show you though, no?
1. These Pink Jeans Of Our Lifelong Dreams
WHAT: Frame The Bubble Jeans*
Why We Love It: When our editor-in-chief, Audie, discovered these jeans she rushed to make a reel about them which you can see from every angle HERE. But the key points are these jeans, in addition to having that leg-slimming, curve-flattering barrel shape, are the perfect pink we’ve been searching for our entire adult lives.
Sizes keep selling out, so we included a few places you can get them. Try the Frame website first though, cause we have a code for you for 15% off: use THECANDIDLY15.
Price: $298
2. These Cushiest Flat Sandals That Look As Strappy And Chic As Heels
WHAT: Naturalizer Brandy Sandal*
Why we love it: These are the shoes we reach for when we’re about to walk 15,000 steps through a city where we also want to look ravenously chic. Paris comes to mind. The arch support, the cushioning, the soft leather. It’s all sublime, but that strappiness gives them the elegant effect of heels as we plonk along in skirts and dresses and all our carefully picked out vacation outfits. Go HERE to see a bunch of outfits we’ve worn with them already.
Price: $130
3. This Minimalist Dress That prettily Conceals A Belly Pooch
WHAT: Z Supply Cornelia Poplin Maxi Dress*
Why We Love It: You know that one dress in your closet that you slip on every time it’s clean and you need to look cute, for brunches and showers and dinners on vacation, because you know you need to look your best but also want to feel completely free and covered up and like you can eat the enormous bowl of spaghetti set in front of you without spending the rest of the day worrying about bloating? Well friends, this is that dress.
Smocking so no bra is needed. Pockets in the pretty poplin skirt. Just a 10 out of 10 summer dress.

4. These Perfect Cotton Pants We Wear Daily And Kinda Need You To Know About
WHAT: J.Crew Luna Pant in Cotton Poplin*
Why we love it: Ok, remember when we said we only buy things AFTER we leave them behind but can’t stop thinking about them? Well, don’t do that we these pants. They’re so incredibly good, they sell out and go on preorder ALL. THE. TIME. They’re that perfect, flattering, easy cotton pant we live in, and therefore, buy in every color. Here’s just a couple:
They match everything and feel light and comfy, even 3 days out from our period after two Spindrifts and half a pizza. We highly recommend ordering (or preordering) them if they have your size. That said, they size big so we recommend ordering one size down.
Price: $98
5. This Cashmere Polo That We're Counting The Days Til Fall To Wear
WHAT: Guest in Residence Collegiate Stripe Polo*
Why We Love It: Fine, this is gorgeous cashmere and more of a piece we’re saving for fall, but by God how the stripe makes us weak. Somehow it’s New England collegiate and cool 70s California girl all at once, and all that said, it’s also an heirloom piece, an investment piece, you know what we’re getting at. It ain’t cheap. But it’s also the piece that brings us the most delight in the world to wear.

6. These Comfy Clogs That Give Us Glorious Height
WHAT: Larroude Miso Wooden Platform Clog In Peanut Suede*
Why We Love It: These shoes are amazing at making you feel tall and lithe if you normally feel stumpy in all your jeans but don't want to have to wear uncomfy heels. They’re truly, truly comfortable, and they balance all our outfits, so we don’t look top heavy.
P.S. This is our new favorite blouse, light enough to wear in summer but is it not also made for picking out a favorite pumpkin in fall. Just sayin’.* Gifted

7. This Anklet We've Collected 87 Compliments On This Summer That Elevates Everything We Wear
WHAT: Jenny Bird Dane Anklet*
Why We Love It: Sometimes we wear very boring, basic things like tanks and denim shorts and we just want a little something to create interest and allure that still feels true to our classic, minimalist selves. For us, this anklet is that thing. We get more compliments on it than anything else we wear.
Price: $118
Bonus: Fine Here's One Very Viral, Trendy Thing That We Have To Admit Is Wildly Good Cause We're Wearing It Pretty Much Every Day
WHAT: Ruti The On The Loose Work Pants*
Why We Love It: If you’ve been on our site in the past 3 months, you’ve heard us blather on about these pants, but we’d be remiss not to mention them, because they’re the best travel pants in the world. Photo for proof:
But they’re also so light and stretchy and flattering that we wear them to everything. We realize we’re ignoring our own prompt by including them, because frankly they are trendy and viral and all those other things, but we wouldn’t write about them unless they were something we saw ourselves wearing forever. We already have the cost-per-wear down to cents.
