WHY: The alt title for this article could have been “a magic tool if you like eating green things but kill every green thing in sight,” because when we say you need zero skills to create a BOUNTIFUL indoor herb garden, it’s an understatement.
This compact 6-pod countertop garden comes with everything you need, including extremely easy instructions such that if you’re someone where “steps” and “diagrams” make your brain melt, you’ll have no trouble.
Upkeep is minimal, and you’ll hear a friendly little beep when your garden needs more water or plant food—usually once every two weeks or so. Which, again, means that you can basically all but IGNORE this indoor garden and still it will show you love. Not unlike most of our relationship dynamics.
For us, there was one dud pod, but the basil made up for it by producing the tallest, velvetiest leaves known to man; it got so bushy we had to make a double batch of pesto.
To be clear, that is not a complaint.
