This Is The Only Jarred Tomato Sauce That Matters

This is the only Jarred Tomato Sauce that matters

WHAT: Rao’s Marinara Sauce

WHY: Apparently, jarred tomato sauce is just one more thing we have to worry about, as it’s typically riddled with sugar.

But for dressing our pasta noodles, sweet potato noodles (never “zoodles”), and anything in need of a hefty dollop of marinara, we always turn to Rao’s.

First, these are the ingredients: imported Italian tomato, imported olive oil, fresh onions, salt, fresh garlic, fresh basil, black pepper, oregano. That’s it. No sugar. No crap.

And second, it’s delicious. Tomato-forward with just enough aromatics and herbs to make it interesting, it’s also simple enough to be a great base if you want to zhoozh it up with mushrooms or peppers or other spices. Not that it needs any of that. It’s perfect as is.

Yes. We said “tomato-forward.”
