This Is Truly The Most Natural-Looking Foundation If You’re Over 40
WHAT: Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Medium Coverage Liquid Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid
WHY: Honestly we hate framing things around age. Do what you want. Wear what you want. Age doesn’t define us. Etc etc etc.
But the truth is, most stuff in the world is made for the demographic that the entire internet is made for: 24-32 year olds. It’s dumb but it’s true.
And once our skin hits 40, foundation needs to cover more, while looking like less. It’s a real riddle of the sphinx, and we’ve been chasing that riddle for about 6 years.
But today, Charlotte Tilbury has solved it for us.
It is called Beautiful Skin foundation. And the name could not be more accurate.
I suspect it’s the hyaluronic acid that creates the almost plumping effect on the skin, and apparently it contains something called “bix-activ” which claims to visibly reduce the look of pores—which it absolutely does.
But the real master stroke of this product is how utterly skin-like it looks. The product, although medium coverage, looks almost imperceptible. Even up close in one of those extremely dangerous 10x magnifying mirrors, the finish is slightly reminiscent of the soft, gauzy skin that those ludicrous Instagram filters provide. Their claim is that it makes your skin look “up to 285% more radiant” which is obviously an extremely made up sounding number. But you will see an instant, visible difference in your skin’s radiance and brightness the moment you put it on. And btw, we used a brush, fingers, and a sponge with it, and they all worked great. It’s totally your preference.
And listen, she has other nice foundations. Better than nice. But they don’t hold a candle to this one if what you want is real coverage, perfect glow, incredible wear, and a magical skin-like finish that doesn’t sink into lines or wrinkles or pores or texture.
It’s probably sold out. Because it’s been sold out since the day it launched.
