This Is The Skirt Of The Summer
WHAT: Free People Lowen Striped Midi Skirt*
WHY: You already know we’re big fans of the maxi skirt. Whenever we find great ones that are truly flattering and comfortable we write about them. Like HERE and HERE.
But there’s one we’ve written about over and over and over again because we just keep buying it in every color…
It’s called the Lowen Skirt from Free People. And it is, in a word, perfect.
But, what’s this? It comes in a STRIPE NOW? As the kids say, say less. Actually that phrase is now so old we don’t think kids even say it anymore. Needless to say, we bought it immediately. And here it is in all its hourglass-creating, ample-skirted, striped-glory:
Yes, we have more photos, that one just captured the true essence of the skirt.
The stretchy waistband (that has a flat panel in front for max waist-skimming) always feels like the right choice for an outfit—we can eat a big, lovely lunch and not feel like we’re bursting. The very full circle skirt is just so supremely flattering on everyone. The cotton poplin is our very favorite material for summer because it’s light and breathable but doesn’t get wrinkled like linen. And maxi skirts are just effortlessly chic, even if you’re not normally an effortlessly chic kinda gal.
And? Pockets.
We loved this blue and cream stripe* with our whole hearts but you sort of won’t believe the other color combos*. We’re wearing it with boots, with flips, with tanks, we’re wearing it with heels at night paired with cropped blazers or denim jackets.
The possibilities are sort of endless, and it will look gorgeous on you. Of this, we are sure.
At The Candidly, we try a lot of stuff so you don’t have to. We only recommend things we truly love, and that we think you’ll love, too. All products are chosen independently by our creative team, and all details reflect the price and availability of products at the time of publication.
