We recently plunked ourselves deep into our couch with a heaping antipasto board (that was mainly carrots - we’re old, what can we say?) and watched the Netflix rom-com Office Romance start to finish. We expected longing stares, adorable fumbles, and quirky side characters, but what we didn’t expect was an effing OCEAN of gorgeous, executive looks that we immediately wanted to recreate.
Because we’re a little over-the-top about these things, we made it our mission to find the exact pieces we’d need to dress as luxe and chic and deeeeeply alluring as Jennifer Lopez, because every look in this movie was a banger, as the kids say … we think?

1. The Exquisitely Tailored Button Downs

This is the one “investment piece” we believe Jennifer’s wardrobe warrants, because in the world of white button-downs we adore, have you ever seen one that fits like this? Wild amount of room for our arms, but it’s the low neckline that smolders. Our wardrobe is exponentially better because of this shirt, which is not just for work but for weekends with light blue jeans and ballet flats and with long silk maxi skirts and an evening bag for formal events.

2. The Work Skirts
Quince Ultra-Stretch Ponte Maxi Pencil Skirt
The brilliance of costume designer Caroline Duncan swapping boring work pants for chic skirts was perhaps our greatest takeaway from Office Romance. Plus, why wouldn’t we wear an elongating, maxi pencil skirt that makes us look 12x more elegant instead of a snoozy, secretarial short skirt? This one from Quince is stretchy ponte so it smooths and conceals every bumpy bit of our hips, thighs, and butt, but we can also breathe in it. And the price is wild.

See? SO much more exciting than our work pants! The high rise and gentle pleating means it skims over hips and creates lovely movement as we swish our way to the coffee machine.

The color is what captivated us about Jennifer’s silk skirt, so we were more than a little thrilled to find it at Ref. Its bias cut is the single most flattering cut on hips and thighs, and the elastic waist is bliss on our bellies.
